The Gift of Prosperity

“Prosperity is the supernatural ability to know what to do in time of need.”

That sentence caught my attention when my coach wrote it in a letter he prepared for the start of our coaching sessions. I had not previously thought about the connection between prosperity and need.\

This morning, I came across the same idea as I read the prologue to the book, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, written by William Kamkwamba. Back in the early 2000s, William’s family were suffering from a crippling drought in Malawi when he decided he would build a wind-powered generator to bring electricity and running water to his village. He was 14 years old at the time.

His neighbors called him misala — crazy — but William refused to let go of his dreams.

William remembers the day when he stood at the top of his tower to unlock the machine’s spinning wheel and release it to the wind:

“I stood level with my creation. Its steel bones were welded and bent, and its plastic arms were blackened from fire. I admired its other pieces: the bottle-cap washers, rusted tractor parts, and the old bicycle frame. Each one told its own story of discovery. Each piece had been lost and then found in a time of fear and hunger and pain. Together now, we were all being reborn.” (William Kamkwamba)

A new story of hope is unfolding as we bring to the world another invention, Stingray Wind Energy, the next generation of wind power technology. As Stingray Ambassadors, we are collaborating with inventor and engineer, James P Moore, to bring prosperity to our global community. We know how to rise up in times of need, and the hundreds of millions of people in our world who are still without electricity and clean water know all about the challenges that gave birth to these inventions.
