A question many entrepreneurs face is how to raise capital for the next phase of growth. There are various ways to approach it and this, like so many things in the entrepreneur's toolkit, is a learned skill. There is no shortage of instructions. There are a lot of people who have gone before and found the way. There are thousands of success stories.
And, there are also the long, dry parts of the pathway when you have planted seeds that haven't yet produced. You may wonder if you have taken a wrong turn. Maybe you have. Maybe you haven't. My guess is probably not. Perhaps you are on a side-trail that you didn't expect, but one thing is certain. There is always the opportunity to learn what you need next to move forward toward your goal.
A great lesson learned from my mentors has been to take the time needed to be clear on my vision.
"Why is it important? And who is it most important to?"
I am also taking time to think about the story to be told to help others see the vision. When entrepreneurs can paint a new future clearly and simply, people will know if this is for them. The right money for my enterprise must come from the right sources - the people who share my passion and want to be part of our collaborative success. The same will be true for you as you seek the money that you need.
This is why I am drawing together a global community of entrepreneurs. These are the ones who know that we can change the world when we find the overlap in our visions and the ways we can contribute to each other's dreams.
I am on this journey right now as I work with our team to bring forward the next generation of wind power technology to provide clean electricity to the hundreds of millions of people who still lack this basic resource.
I am driven by my passion to help entrepreneurs and their families build enterprises that will change the world, starting with the basics of clean energy, water, abundant food and housing. This will give us the strong base to provide opportunities, funding, and education to many more entrepreneurs who will join with us to make a significant contribution to our joint future.
